OLDER NEWS ON THE PROPOSED NEW SKATE PARK IN TROWBRIDGE WILTSHIRE
Councillor John Knight refused to support the towns council planning application to build the proposed 9 ramp skateboard park, apparently not realising it would be so big, he also voiced concerns of worries from people living nearby of potential nuisance from the skaters using this skateboard park and perhaps of potential litter problems
The proposal is still being considered by West Wiltshire District Council
Will Trowbridge get this new skateboard park? Watch this space dudes!
WHAT CAN WE DO TO ENSURE THIS 9 RAMP SKATEBOARD PARK GOES AHEAD?
I believe that we skateboarders are not the sole culprits of all the mess around the parks, there is one bin near the existing ramp, perhaps this problem could be aided by the installation of more bins for everyone to use.
Are skateboarders any more of a potential nuisance that anyone else? Perhaps less trouble is caused in the surrounding areas when we have an activity to do that we enjoy, keeping us using our energy on the sport and leaving no energy for causing nuisances elsewhere?
Do we make more noise than most? Yes our skateboards do make a noise, plus the cheery atmosphere of other skaters enjoying such an energic sport could be considered a nuisance! Skateboarding is a great sport to watch, perhaps the locals would love to participate by watching this incredable sport and some of the fantastic stunts the skaters get upto?
